For the last 8 years, our CNC aluminum 12 Bar/Subcage has been one of the best-selling Grom protection products on the market and helped establish Impaktech as the go-to name in Honda Grom protection. After listening closely to our customers, one thing was clear—you wanted another option. A steel setup designed for long scrape distances, more leverage, and next-level durability.

Designed, engineered, and tested over 8 months in our state-of-the-art USA manufacturing facility, this steel 12 bar was developed alongside our professional sponsored riders to ensure the perfect scrape angle, strength, and weight balance. We didn’t rush this product—and we didn’t cut corners. Our goal was simple: bring a steel 12 bar to the market with zero flaws, backed by real-world testing.

Construction & Features

• Made from high-strength DOM steel tubing

• Laser-cut subframe mounts for a precise, secure fit

• One-piece solid steel peg mounts (no welded tabs)

• CNC billet rear pegs equipped with replaceable CNC Delrin sliders

  • Sliders are designed to take impact and can be replaced in minutes after a crash or heavy scrape

• Laser-cut step plate (with 3M Grip tape)

• Impaktech’s signature CNC scrape plate holder, machined from a single piece of steel

  • Rear-mounted hardware allows scrape plate removal no matter how low you ride

  • Scrape plates available in aluminum or titanium

Smart Mounting Design

This 12 bar mounts directly to the Honda Grom subframe, intentionally leaving the undertail mounting points free. That means you can still run your favorite license plate bracket or undertail exhaust setups, including TST Industries mounts or Toce undertail exhausts.

We specifically chose not to use undertail mounting for strength reasons. During third-party structural testing, we found that combining subframe and undertail mounting points caused unnecessary stress, leading to subframe cracking under load. The Grom subframe simply isn’t designed to handle both. A single, properly engineered subframe mount proved to be stronger, safer, and more reliable long-term—and prevents cracking or bending of the 12 bar itself.
